Christmas in August?!?

Well folks 40 days from now I will be leaving on a jet plane headed to Pemba, Mozambique to begin the journey along with several hundred students and children at the  Iris Ministries’ base.

 

 

As I’m (trying to) prepare myself spiritually and emotionally for this life change there is also an overwhelming financial need to make this happen. I appreciate every donation, prayer and/or word of encouragement that has been given so far it is truly overwhelming. Here’s my short list..there is more where this came from so I’ll keep you updated:

 

Item #1 : Mattress Pad- This will be vital during our weekend stays in the ‘bush bush’. We will be taking several hour long trips to unreached towns around Mozambique and we will be carrying tents and sleeping bags. During these outreaches we will be ministering to the people in the secluded communities and bringing food, gifts, and love to a people who seem to be forgotten by the rest of the world.

Item #2: North Face jacket- I will be there during the rainy season and at night the temperatures can drop down to 60 or below. A raincoat/jacket will be a great asset to help endure the crazy African weather!

 

Item # 3: Travel Pack Cover- I will be using the travel backpack my sister Erica used during her 11 month mission trip so I am blessed beyond measure not to have to buy one of those as they are VERY expensive, but I do need the travel cover to transport it. '

Item #4: Mosquito Bed Net- This item is not just recommended but required because of the high risk of malaria. This is also pretreated with repellent to keep those pesky things away! :)
